Meet the Winemaker: Ted Glennon of Vinos Finos de California

Cove Ledge is excited to invite you to a very special Meet the Winemaker evening with Ted Glennon of Vinos Finos de California!

Ted is a sixth generation Californian, born and raised in the Sierra Nevadas. He found his way to winemaking through a career in restaurants and hospitality, leading award-winning wine programs as a sommelier. In 2012, Ted worked a harvest season in Barbaresco, and his path from then on was clear – to produce exceptional California wine that celebrates the complex history of California. In his own words, his “aim is to capture the character of Classic California wines, not modern”, celebrating historic California winemaking before big, heavy, over-oaked styles dominated the state.

Each of Vinos Finos’ wines tells a story of place and passion. The "Vöcal" wines are limited bottlings of exquisite single-site reserve Pinot Noirs and Cabernet Sauvignons, "Lasai" is a refined reserve style Chardonnay, and "Sabroso!" is a vibrant, chillable red blend made from old and unique varieties from the cool coastal mountains and valleys of the Monterey Bay region.

Ted’s winemaking philosophy is simple: trust the ingredients. He practices honest farming, spontaneous fermentations and natural acidity, relying mainly on neutral or used French oak to let the fruit and terroir shine. We are thrilled to be hosting him and to be sharing his wines with you in such an intimate and in-depth environment. Seats are limited; tickets are available now on our website, and are fully refundable against purchases on the night.

Fun fact: When not farming or making wine, Ted Glennon is known by his alter ego DJ Soigné, spinning rare vinyl records at hip restaurants and wine bars around the country. No promises….
